Review: Steadfast

Steadfast Steadfast by Sarina Bowen
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

I loved this book! Jude is the kind of broken boy I love to read. He is facing his demons and trying to stay sober and away from his ex. This book grips your heart, makes you question everything you thought you know about Jude, and has a good mystery and suspense. I was hooked from the start and could not stop listening. The narration was amazing it was my first audiobook by both of these narrators but will not be my last. Sarina Bowen’s books are always great in my opinion

Title: MANTRUM
Author: Jacob Chance
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: January 10, 2020 Cover Design: Sybil Wilson/Popkitty Design
Mantrum: An emotional outburst or an expression of anger by an adult man.
I’ve never understood the attraction women have for an alpha male, until I meet single father, Rex Winters.
Tall, chiseled, and persistent, he tries to avoid a parking ticket by asking me out to dinner. But I know men like him. He’s a repeat offender--habitually getting into trouble and always ready to sweet talk his way out of it.
But his charm won’t work on me.
Not when he’s the reason I’m forced to attend a six-week anger management class. And especially not when I find out all six feet two inches of Rex and his two hundred pounds of sexy muscle will be joining me every single time.
It doesn’t matter how much he flirts, or how attracted to him I am. I’m the girl who enforces rules for a living and he’s the guy who breaks them.
Do opposites really attract?
I guess we're about to find out.
Jacob Chance grew up in New England and still lives there today. He's a martial artist, a football fan, a practical joker and junk food lover.
A writer of sports romcoms and romantic suspense, he plans on providing you with many more stories.

Review: Girl Gone Viral

Girl Gone Viral Girl Gone Viral by Alisha Rai
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely adored this book! I was instantly drawn in by the diversity in the characters and the open discussion of mental health issues. Kat, is a former model who has experienced a traumatic event you learn about through the narrative, and suffers from PTSD and anxiety. She is engaged in exposure therapy and actively working on improving her mental health. Jas is her bodyguard, and has been with her for many years, he is quiet and powerful, but he has his own traumatic past as a veteran who was deployed in Iraq. Throughout this novel these two learn how to communicate with each other but also how to become the best versions of themselves and improve their lives. This is my first Alisha Rai book and I was blown away. It is very refreshing to see the increase in diverse narratives throughout the romance genre. I received an ARC of this book through NetGalley and voluntarily give my review

Review: The Fall of Legend

The Fall of Legend The Fall of Legend by Meghan March
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Fall of Legend fell short for me. I loved the premise, but found that the majority of this book took place with the characters separated doing their own thing. 2/3rds of the book felt like backstory and setup and the plot wasn't moving forward. The last 1/3rd of the book picked up significantly and I very much enjoyed the scenes where Legend and Scarlett were interacting together. I am hopeful for House of Scarlett to give me a little more of what I have come to expect from a Meghan March series. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon did a great job narrating these characters, but there was some audio edits that were noticeable, which was distracting for the listener.

Review: Power Play

Power Play Power Play by Cara Dee
My rating: 0 of 5 stars

Cara Dee has become a consistent go to when I want a read that is heavy on the heat but also has an extensive story that builds the relationship between the two characters. I guess you could say she creates the perfect balance of erotic and romance in erotic romance ;). Cara created amazing characters with depth and flaws that were still accessible and relatable to the reader. I loved that Abel has Bipolar Disorder, as it is uncommon to find issues regarding mental health addressed in romance. Madigan fights with himself and his internal battle is witnessed through Abel's narrative. I would have loved dual POV, because Madigan definitely had a lot of change to cope with. I loved this book and hope to see these two in other Camassia Cove books as I work through the series.

About WONDER WITH ME:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby comes a new story in her With Me In Seattle series… Reed Taylor doesn’t pay much attention to the holidays—until he receives a surprise present. Four-year-old Piper is the daughter he never knew about, and with the death of her mother, is also now the roommate he never expected. He’s determined to make their first Christmas together one she’ll never forget. Noel Thompson has gotten her share of strange requests in her career as an interior designer. The call to design a beautiful home for Christmas is more like a dream come true. And that was before she met her new employer—sexy and mysterious, he’s everything she ever hoped Santa would bring her. As Noel showers his home with holiday spirit, Reed showers Piper with love. And the busy life he’s created for himself no longer seems nearly as important as the one Noel is helping him build with his daughter. But if he can’t convince his decorator to stay, this could be the only year he feels the true wonder of the season. **Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Review: Christmas Gifts: An Indecency Suites Festive Treat

Christmas Gifts: An Indecency Suites Festive Treat Christmas Gifts: An Indecency Suites Festive Treat by Anabella Roscoff
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Gable Rhyme is gift, but also a mystery. I think the idea for this story is very creative but felt a little rushed. I have questions and want more information about Jude and Gable. I think there was definitely potential for this to be a longer novella or even a full length novel, but it was a nice Christmas story for fans of Anabella Roscoff. I was hoping for this book to be a little darker, based on how it began, but the heat was still there.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily give my review.

Review: Wonder With Me

Wonder With Me Wonder With Me by Kristen Proby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wonder with me is book 11.5 in the With me in Seattle series and I have got to say every one of the books in this series gives me the warm and fuzzies. This is a novella about Noel (perfect name for a Christmas story Heroine) and Reed (A surprise dad with a 4 year old who is trying to make their first Christmas together epic). Kristen Proby has this way of making you feel instantly connected and invested in the characters, and while this was a novella the story did not feel rushed at any point. This book was like watching a Hallmark Christmas movie but way sexier and less cheesy! If your a fan of the Seattle crew, you will love this book and the few drop in from some old friends. I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily give my review

Review: Date Me, Bryson Keller!

Date Me, Bryson Keller! Date Me, Bryson Keller! by Kevin van Whye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I adored this book! I have not been reading a lot of YA lately and this was the perfect one to return to the genre with. Date me, Bryson Keller! was an adorably sweet coming of age, coming into ones own tale of Kai, and closeted high school senior, learning to own his life and be truthful with himself and his community. From the first page this book played like a movie in my head and I want to watch it so badly (think: To all the boys I've loved before, The kissing booth, 10 things I hate about you, She's the man...) ATTN Netflix: Snatch up this book and make it into a movie! This is the first book by Kevin van Whye and his writing style, POV and all the characters in the book. I want to send this book to middle schools and high schools across the country, because the message of acceptance is so important. Love is love and "jokes" about sexuality are not funny they perpetuate discrimination. I hope Kevin van Whye keeps writing and expanding on these characters. I want Donny and Priya's story! I want more of Kai and Bryson, I hope even the sisters get their own books! I encourage everyone to read this story and share it with a teen or preteen that they know! I received an arc of this book and voluntarily give my review.

Review: Rush: The Beginning

Rush: The Beginning Rush: The Beginning by L.A. Cotton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love rockstar romances and this novel was unlike any I have listened to. What made this so unique is that there was original musical performances during key points of the story. This enhanced the experience of the story for the reader. I became so attached to Evangeline and I hope in the next book LA Cotton includes more music and gives us some of Raph’s POV. Sarah Puckett’s performance was easy on the ears and really brought the characters to life. I couldn’t put this audiobook book down. This review was posted by a #audiobookobsessionreviewer
