Review: Prowl

Prowl Prowl by Cara Dee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Prowl took me on an emotional journey! This book was so angsty and character driven. Ty, Walker, Macklin and Lane all go through their own growth and personal development in this book. I loved every moment with these men, I felt a range of emotions as they navigated their individual situations to create the relationships they dreamed of. Walker was the most surprising to me in this book. I loved getting to know him more. Macklin was truly vulnerable and I loved seeing more of that side of him. Ty changed the least throughout this book, but did some self exploration on his journey. Lane had a lot to work through in this book, and I loved getting to see in his brain as he decided what he wanted in his life.

The cross overs in this book were everything!! I loved getting to see Darius and Gray, Rio and Chelsea, Nick and Kayla and Cade, Dylan and Gabriella. I hope they visit more often! I also finally realized that Walker's boss Ed and his partner Peyton are from "Just Sign Here", Cara is masterful!

This series gets better and Better and Prowl was a fantastic look a complex polyamorous relationships.

Review: Bone Island: Book of Danvers

Bone Island: Book of Danvers Bone Island: Book of Danvers by Nicole Fiorina
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bone Island is one of my top reads of the year!

Bone Island is one of those brilliant stories that sneaks up on you. You're not expecting the ride it is going to take you on, because from the start it feels vastly different from the previous book in the series. Reading this book is like slowly submerging yourself in the sea, you slowly step into the cool water, letting your toes, feet and ankles acclimate to the temperature. Bit by bit you move deeper and deeper in until you reach a certain point and give in fully diving into its depths.

This has been one of my most anticipated reads since I finished Hollow Heathens in 2020! I did not have time for a reread before diving into Bone Island: Book of Danvers, and was a little hesitant in the beginning, it took my mind some time to return to Weeping Hollow, and also to fully grasp the pattern this story takes: past, present and cautionary tale. Adora and Stone gripped me and pulled me under. Their raw desire and passion was dripping off the pages and the barriers between them were truly staggering. These star crossed lovers had me worried throughout the book that I might not get my happy ending, "We sinful villains don't have hearts or happy endings" but Nicole Fiorina writes beautifully devastating romance, and she delivered that on every page.

Each time I read a Nicole Fiorina book I am struck by how poetic her prose is, this review will never do her writing justice, but she is one of the most remarkable romance writers publishing today. Her perspective is gritty and raw, painful and remarkable. I highlight while reading her more than any other writer on my bookshelf.

As Adora says, "Love always spilled blood" and this is a book that left me bleeding.

Review: Cauldrons Call

Cauldrons Call Cauldrons Call by Kristen Proby
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love Breena and Giles! These two have always been meant for each other and watching them come together is as natural as breathing. The way they fit together makes my reader heart happy. There relationship is not all smooth sailing because something is hunting them and Breena, Giles and their coven are all at risk.

I loved the side characters in this story, Both Breena's Mother and Giles' Parents are wonderful additions! I also loved Merlin and Near and their friendship.

This story was a wonderful blend of romance and paranormal mystery and suspense. This book is everything I hoped for and this cover is absolutely killer!
