Review: Loverboy

Loverboy Loverboy by Sarina Bowen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Love, Love everything about this story! I don't think I can accurately express how much I love Gunner and Posey. Sarina Bowen seriously outdid herself with this story!!!

From the very beginning Gunnar was funny, compassionate, sexy, strong (I could go on). Basically all the things you dream of from a book boyfriend. Not to mention he is a super spy with all sorts of fancy skills and a body you just know is ripped. Posy is independent and caring, she is the caretaker of her family and employees and she is a fighter. She has had many bumps along her road and hurdled each of them.

This book is so much more than a story about Posy and Gunnar though. There is action and mystery. The Company is featured more prominently in this one, additional scenes with Max and Scout and other agents. After reading this book I have a craving for pie unlike any I have had before- except maybe when I watch the movie Waitress. It is that level of pie-gasms!! So much so that at the end of the audio the narrator comments on the pie cravings this book may have left you with!

Sarina Bowen included a character with Down Syndrome in this story, a boy named Jerry who works for Posy washing dishes and helping in the kitchen. I love the inclusion of neuro-diverse characters in romance. I also love the attention to young adults and adults being included. So much focus is on young children but a generation of adults with Autism, Down Syndrome and other genetic and developmental disabilities are entering the work force and de-stigmatizing employment for adults with special needs is amazing to read about. I think Jerry was a great addition to the story and I hope to see more neuro-diverse characters (both lead and supporting) in future books in the romance genre

Loverboy made me laugh out loud consistently. Sarina has given me so much to think about in the world of baristas from barista porn to coffee titties this is one of the funniest books I have read in a while. The chemistry between Posy and Gunnar is off the charts and when performed by Joe Arden and Vanessa Edwin it is fire in my ears. True eargasms occurring with this story. Their performances were so great I listened to this book as slowly as possible, because I never wanted it to end.

If you can't tell this story is a complete knockout! I absolutely loved every minute, 5 stars! I wish I could give it more. You will not be disappointed with this book. Can completely be read as a standalone if you have not read other books in this series or by Sarina. I literally can't say enough good things about this book.

I received an ALC and ARC of this book and voluntarily give my review.
